How do I get the pre-tax price from a total?
Choose "Extract tax from a tax-inclusive total." Net = total ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and tax is the difference. Simply subtracting the percentage would be wrong.
Does this work for VAT and GST?
Yes. VAT and GST are percentage-of-price taxes, so the same math applies — just enter your local rate.
Is the result rounded?
Amounts are shown to two decimal places. Individual line items may round slightly differently from a receipt's grand total.
